The finance team handles various tasks that keep the house affordable and a reasonable project for college students. Finance holds responsibilities to prove the low costs of the house as well as making sure the team as a whole is spending money wisely. Tasks include budgeting, reaching out for donations, and fundraising.
The Home Automation team develops the home automation system that regulates the interior environment such as lighting, heating and cooling, and the home entertainment equipment.
Horticulture is the art, science and technology of plant cultivation.
The mechanical team primarily designs the HVAC system and the plumbing system of the house.
The public relations team acts as the voice to the world outside of The Solar House Team. This team focuses on public reach by giving tours of the Solar Village and attending related conferences.
The structures team designs the foundation and substructure of the home to ensure the house is structurally sound. This team also is tasked with transporting the home to competition.
